In this article I will show you how you can boost your PageRank by implementing two simple fixes, so you website will use a preferred domain. Each fix should only take you one minute to implement… and it is the very first thing I do after setting up a new domain on my web server.
Most websites can be reached via two web addresses. One web address has the www in it, like http://www.eblogcamp.com, whereas the other web address has the www missing like http://www.eblogcamp.com.

The most important thing for your blog is the domain name. It should be keyword rich. For example, if I was creating a site where I was going to promote BBQ Grills as an affiliate through Amazon, I would try to find “deep level” keywords. First I’d go to Amazon and find a sub category like “grills gas” or “grills charcoal”. Just start typing the main “grills” keyword into the Amazon search box and use the automatic search suggestions for your deep level keywords.
Backlinks to your site are important. Google’s search algorithm takes into account how many other sites are linking to your site. Your site will rank higher if more sites are linking to you. (There are lots more variables to take into account, but this is the general idea).
However, it’s not really that simple. The Google search algorithm is constantly tweaked and if you just created thousands of backlinks overnight, then Google knows you are trying to game the system and your site will probably be removed from its search engine results.
