Full Review: What You Need to Know about Traffic Travis SEO Software

Several days ago, I have a chance to write a review about Market Samurai and in this post, I will introduce with you another software to perform a market research, Traffic Travis.

In general, Traffic Travis is a free software to do a keyword research, competitor analysis, on-page analysis and rank tracking. Some functions of Traffic Travis are identical to those of Market Samurai. However, Traffic Travis has some “secret” weapons that can’t be found in Market Samurai. Let’s take a closer look.

Keyword research tool

My experience with Traffic Travis keyword research tool is zero. It can’t be compared with the keyword research module in Market Samurai or even the free tools such as Google Adwords keyword tool. Traffic Travis allows you to generate up to 2000 keyword suggestions for your initial search term. However, in some of the suggestions that Traffic Travis put out for you, they have zero traffic count and don’t have any SEO value. In summary, here are the pros and cons of Traffic Travis keyword tool

Pros:

  • Generate up to 2000 keywords
  • Long tail keywords
  • Sort through the keywords, find the broad, phrase and exact match of the keyword.

Cons:

  • Too many junk keywords. Keywords that have zero traffic count and can’t be optimized for SEO
  • Doesn’t help to explore the niche in that keywords.
  • Doesn’t show the Adwords CPC
  • Lack of essential information of a keyword research tool.

Search engine tools

In search engine tools, you can find four small tabs. The first tab is used to track the position of your page on the SERP based on your predefined keywords. You can identify up to 200 competition sites for your keywords in the second tab. Next, you can identify the backlinks of your competitors on the third tab. Finally, the fourth tab is where you can export your project to make it easier to track the performances of your website over time.

I don’t have much to say about the rank tracker tool because it’s like the other free tools you can find on the Internet right now, tracking your rank on the SERP and report back to you where your inner page currently ranks at. So, I really want to pay attention to give you the review about the Backlinks To Site tool. As I said, this tool lets you analyze the backlinks of your competitor and find out quickly how many backlinks and what are the anchor text he used to rank his website on the SERPs. The Backlinks To Site tool let you analyze:

  • The URL of the page where he leave backlink
  • The anchor text the he use
  • The IP address of the site
  • The PR of the site
  • The link in/link out ratio
  • The dofollow

So, you can see details about the pages where your competitor leave the backlink and use that to quickly build the backlinks for yourself in order to compete against him.

Page Analysis

This tool runs a quick report of your chosen page for a keyword to see whether you have optimized your page for that keywords or not. I have used this tool regularly on my sites and it gives me quick information about whether I have put the keywords in my title tag or not, whether my meta tags have enough keyword in there and whether my keyword density in the body of the content enough or not.

For example, here’s the screen shot of a page for the keyword “dog training school” and you can see how detailed the result is

SEO Analysis

Identical to the Competition module in Market Samurai, this tool lets you identify top 20 of your competitors, get important information about them and give you overall information about whether to beat them is hard or not. The nice thing about this tool in Traffic Travis is it gives you the rating on whether you can beat the competitors to rank on the top or not by displaying under start rating.

For example, I have run a SEO analysis for a keyword “dog training school” and here’s the list of the competitors that I receive

Conclusion

Traffic Travis is very helpful software for blogger and Internet marketer. On top of the reason is it’s free. You hardly find a free, quality SEO software like Traffic Travis today. Another reason is it packed with very strong, and helpful tools to let you attract more traffic to the website and build backlinks. Although the keyword research tool doesn’t give me much impression but other tools in Traffic Travis do. If you want to upgrade to the PRO version of Traffic Travis, it just costs about $47, a price that is more than reasonable for the good software like this.
